Our Story

Pronounced cah-ja. From the old English Cornish dialect, meaning Daisy. Inspired by the feminine beauty of the classic wildflower. Born out of love for sentimental treasures, Caja takes inspiration from the beauty of travel and unknown adventures. We live for endless days of summer, warm dips in the ocean and lounging in the sun. Our pieces are designed to be versatile and worn effortlessly, with the intention to become unique heirlooms for you and your journey - wherever that may be! We hope our jewellery makes you shine bright and feel beautiful everyday.

Our Founder

Whilst exploring the magical island of Bali, Zoë became inspired to follow her creative dreams. Venturing inland to Ubud, a small town surrounded by rainforests and rice paddies, she took a jewellery making class. After learning the traditional methods of silversmithing from local artisans her passion for making jewellery came to life. Caja began with crafting jewellery from a tiny desk in her bedroom and quickly evolved to requiring extra hands to help create her designs.

‘It all begins with daydreams of faraway places, the desire to travel has been in me for as long as I can remember. I turn those daydreams into sketches and design concepts. I then develop prototypes in my workshop, playing around with silver, tools and fire. The prototypes and sketches are then sent to my incredible production team in Bali and together we turn my ideas into beautiful handcrafted adornments. Caja is my interpretation of the world and all the beauty it has to offer. I aim to create timeless pieces of jewellery that inspire women to explore and discover, and to feel confident and beautiful everyday.’

Originally from Cornwall in the south west of England, Zoë now calls beautiful New Zealand her home. Working from her sunny studio in Papamoa, she designs and handcrafts each new piece. She then works closely with a team of artisan jewellers from a small village in Bali to ethically produce her collections.
